Play Your Part!

So as I sat there and the preacher starts preaching about Ephesians 5: 21-33 & 6: 1-4, I began to think myself "here we go again with the 'honor your Mother and Father speech.'" But you have to understand this preacher seems to always preach about this same topic........ But this time.....God open my eyes to something else that I have not been seeing in these verses. #ThanksHolySpirit

I began to question whether I was playing my role in my household. (I use the word household because my family is HUGE, you know.... with everyone in the world being apart of it...)
For the whole Family:
5:21 it specifically says that we are ALL to submit, out of reverence for Christ. But submission is not necessarily for that person, it is out of REVERENCE for CHRIST.
Reverence: deep respect for.
For the Wife: Submit
5:22, Wives submit yourselves to your own husband as you do to the Lord.
It is hard for me to speak on this topic because I do not want to say the wrong thing. But I will say this: this is the structure that God created for the family and he would never ask us to implement something that will make one of lesser value to his kingdom. No matter how twisted the world gets, this structure (when properly implemented) is perfect.
For the Husband: Love
5:28, In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (I love how the bible puts it in such a simple, practical way when it says.....) 29. After all, people have never hated their own bodies, but they feed and care for them, just as Christ does for the church---
I know....I know.... this role of "head of the house" is so misdone. But this role is given by God to the husband, so it should all be done with love and grace from The One and Only True Father. Again, its perfect.
For the Children: Honor
6:2. "Honor your father and mother"-- which is the first commandment with a promise-- 3. "so that it may go will with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Our role as children is to honor them. So think about how your gonna honor your parents before you speak. Before you make any actions, reflect and ask yourself will it honor them.

These are the roles of everyone in the household.
Are you playing your part in His perfection?
