God is Faithful

So......

Today I was reading 1 Corinthians 10, on my journey through the Corinthians, and God revealed some truth to me.

It is a simple truth. As always.

God is Faithful.

The verse that got me was 1 Corinthians 10:13. But before I unveil the verse, and blow your mind, let me get some definitions out of the way.

Faithful  having or showing true and constant support or loyalty; deserving trust

Also, my NIV version uses tempted as opposed to tested. But according to the bottom of the page in my bible, the Greek for temptation and tempted can also mean testing and tested.

And since James 1:13-14 says 13. "When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14. "but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desires and enticed", I'm going to use test because God will test you.

Now the verse.....

1 Corinthians 10:13 "No testing has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is Faithful; he will not let you be tested beyond what you can bear. But when your are tested, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. "

This is such good news! It helped me realize that God is always on my side, and I can overcome anything all because God is Faithful.

Personal Moment:

I'm about to start my 5th year of college *Super Senior* and it sucks! When I think about it makes me sad and mad at myself. I was not faithful to my school work and that led to me falling behind and having to spend two semesters getting my GPA back up. It was horrible. Now I'm stuck in undergrad while the people I graduated high school with are moving on with their lives.
But.....
I "consider it pure joy whenever faced with trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance" (James 1:2-3). Thanks to Jesus, I am given "a way out so [ I ] can endure."
I have this peace in me that helps me understand that "All things will work for the good of those who love God." And God is Faithful.

Gospel Bomb:

The most faithful thing God has ever done was send his son Jesus Christ to die for the sins of humanity. And by his death, giving every person who believes him EVERLASTING, ETERNAL life. That is the type of life that cannot be taken away.
Thanks #HolySpirit

Update

I haven't blogged in so long but it really has been in the back of my mind ever since I stopped.

Any who.......

A lot has happened since the last time we have talked Mr. Destiné.

Update: I'm still in College, a year and a half to go!
God is still changing me, but that's never gonna change. #thankgod
I've been getting opportunities to perform some spoken word pieces that I have written, and it amazes me how                      faithful God is.
I've decided to get my hair locked :) Next year, just wait on it.
I've been reading the Bible so much lately, that I see myself in it. *Funny how that happens*
             I'm 22 now.
More and more, I'm starting to wish my extended family was in the US. (aunts, uncles, and first cousins)
So much more stuff, but those are the biggies. I guess.

Play Your Part!

So as I sat there and the preacher starts preaching about Ephesians 5: 21-33 & 6: 1-4, I began to think myself "here we go again with the 'honor your Mother and Father speech.'" But you have to understand this preacher seems to always preach about this same topic........ But this time.....God open my eyes to something else that I have not been seeing in these verses. #ThanksHolySpirit

I began to question whether I was playing my role in my household. (I use the word household because my family is HUGE, you know.... with everyone in the world being apart of it...)
For the whole Family:
5:21 it specifically says that we are ALL to submit, out of reverence for Christ. But submission is not necessarily for that person, it is out of REVERENCE for CHRIST.
Reverence: deep respect for.
For the Wife: Submit
5:22, Wives submit yourselves to your own husband as you do to the Lord.
It is hard for me to speak on this topic because I do not want to say the wrong thing. But I will say this: this is the structure that God created for the family and he would never ask us to implement something that will make one of lesser value to his kingdom. No matter how twisted the world gets, this structure (when properly implemented) is perfect.
For the Husband: Love
5:28, In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (I love how the bible puts it in such a simple, practical way when it says.....) 29. After all, people have never hated their own bodies, but they feed and care for them, just as Christ does for the church---
I know....I know.... this role of "head of the house" is so misdone. But this role is given by God to the husband, so it should all be done with love and grace from The One and Only True Father. Again, its perfect.
For the Children: Honor
6:2. "Honor your father and mother"-- which is the first commandment with a promise-- 3. "so that it may go will with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Our role as children is to honor them. So think about how your gonna honor your parents before you speak. Before you make any actions, reflect and ask yourself will it honor them.

These are the roles of everyone in the household.
Are you playing your part in His perfection?

Wow!

I really have not posted since February 28!?

Wow I suck. Sometimes I have things I want to post but I have been battling with not feeling like anything is good enough.

Pray for me yall!

Happy Birthday Wensly!

My Prayer:
Father God I want to thank you for the life that you have blessed Wensly with. Even though we are not worthy, you continue to show your greatness and mercy. Father I pray that he will be the “tree that is planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever [he] does prospers” (Psalm 1:3). I thank you in advance for allowing him to grow in you and for planting seeds that will grow into this tree. I pray that your will, will takeover his life. So that he will live the life that you have promised to your followers. I pray that he will submit to your will forevermore. I pray for him not as someone who is worthy, God but as one of your followers……
In Jesus name.
Amen.
Happy Birthday! I love you.

"Where a Man Belongs"

This is a link to a Tumblr blog. It is actually an exert from "Desiring God" by John Piper but this person put it on   his blog and I feel all men should know this as well as women. It tells of a mans role in marriage and the family. I have been looking for something like this and it is no coincident that it was on my Tumblr feed.

Just click the link below..Enjoy!

#Swag

What is #swag for a Christian?

First and foremost, I do not believe that Christian #swag can ever be defined as something you can physically see.  For Paul said, ".....I no longer live but Christ lives in me....." (Galatians 2:20), meaning that your #swag is not yours. Its is Christ.
I am going to place #swag in a bible verse to tell help illustrate what the #swag of a Christian is.....

Galatians 5:22-23
"But the (#swag of a Christian) is love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, Gentleness and self-control."

Yes, That is the fruit of the Spirit. And that is the #swag of a Christian.
