The Irresistible Revolution

The Irresistible Revolution is a book that was referred to me by a friend, this book has really spoken to me in many different ways. This portion is from chapter nine:

"It all goes back to the original sin in the garden of Eden. Adam and Eve are invited to enjoy the fruit of all the trees except one-- the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the serpent tempts them to eat of the fruit by telling them that if they do, they will be like God. And as Adam and Eve grubbed down on it, and humanity still craves the fruit of that tree. It's darn good fruit, but it's fruit reserved only for God...."

Note:

I feel that we sometimes get caught up in temptations and we start trying to control our own destiny then we begin to turn into our own gods. I feel that Adam and Eve eating the apple was a lack of faith; the enemy convinced them that their life was not complete without that knowledge. We just need to understand that the created could never be like the Creator, and the pursuit of that will be a huge down fall in your life....just as it was for humanity.
