Matthew 18:21-35
Can you imagine if God gave us exactly what we deserved?
It is scary to think about.
This was the parable that Jesus told when Peter asked him, Mat. 18:21; "Lord, how many times shall I forgive someone who sins against me? Up to seven times?".
So the man that was called a wicked servant, was someone who was given mercy after owing his master money. But then goes out and demands money from someone who owed him, hypocritical..huh? This wicked servant, even goes so far as to having the man thrown in prison for his debts.
The master finds out about this and that is how we got to this-------->
32. ".......'You wicked servent,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34. In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed." 35. "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive a brother or sister from your heart."
-Jesus
So, how many times should we forgive someone who sins against us?......
Well, ask yourself this, How many times do you want God to forgive you for your sins?......
